The Hardcore Hippies were formed in the late ’90s by Gary and Lynn, who recorded in their bedroom and played at local venues.

Andy joined two years ago, followed by Chet and Tom, completing the band.

They are not strictly a cover band, but they do put their own twist on some cover songs along with their original reggae-influenced compositions.

Band introductions:

Gary, 68, is the rhythm guitarist from East Ham, a West Ham supporter, who played in several bands during the 70s punk era, including the Vicious Hamsters, and still rocks today.

Lynn, 78, is the vocalist and lyricist from Welwyn Garden City, a grandmother and great-grandmother with plenty of experience, still bopping along.

Ricky Sardi, originally from Muswell Hill, but settled in Welwyn Garden. Self taught from raiding my parents varied record collection which consists mostly of 50s rockabilly 70s punk and 80s 2 tone. Also loves rocksteady blues and metal

Tom, 41, the drummer born in St. Albans and raised in WGC, learned to play the drums at school while jamming in grunge and metal bands. He studied at the drum tech college in Acton (London) at age 20 and loves roots, rock, reggae, and jazz music.
